Gingrich May Have Done the Impossible by Setting a New Standard for Political Hypocrisy, says TWO
NEW YORK – Truth Wins Out called on GOP presidential candidate Newt Gingrich to quit the presidential race today if allegations by his second ex-wife, Marianne, are true about the former House Speaker demanding an open sexual relationship. This is hardly the behavior one would expect from a promoter of “traditional values” and a fervid opponent of marriage equality for same-sex couples.
“If the allegation is true, Newt Gingrich has done the impossible by setting a new standard for hypocrisy in politics. I’d call such actions unconscionable, but that would wrongly suggest that Gingrich has a conscience,” said Truth Wins Out’s Executive Director Wayne Besen. “Gingrich has worked to deny LGBT people the right to marry based on his professed family values, but may have failed to disclose that his definition of family might include an open relationship with a mistress.”
ABC’s Brian Ross will be airing a story that, if confirmed, would do irreparable damage to Gingrich’s campaign:
ABC Chief Investigative Correspondent Brian Ross, told WMAL’s Morning Majority program that Marianne Gingrich claims her ex-husband wanted an ‘open marriage.’ “He came to her and said, ‘I want to stay married to you and still have an affair with Callista, his current wife,” said Ross. “According to Marianne, he said ‘You need to share me,’ and she said ‘I don’t want to share,’ and the marriage ended,” he added.

I wonder what his conversion to catholicism is all about? A bit rich given his serial adultery. Doesn’t get any more hypocritical or bigoted but then that’s the GOP today. Isn’t it sad to think that gay republicans vote for and support th GOP regardless? They’re obviously suffering from Stockholm syndrome.

Leave Newt alone. I hope he gets the nomination for two reasons.
1) Although I’m not as crazy about Obama as I was 3 years ago, I want to insure the republican nominee is someone who doesn’t have a chance of beating him.
2) If he gets the nomination, it will make it so much easier to highlight the hypocrisy of the “family values’ crowd and that there really are dominionist, history revisionists out there who want to take over. So many well meaning Christians don’t even realize it yet play into their hands.

The man’s ego is so huge that, if by some miracle he doesn’t get the nomination, he could well start a third party to get elected. A clown with no sense of humor, that’s our Newt. We don’t need a man with his hair-trigger temper in the White House.

So Gingrich wins. Amazing how these Christian Values voters get so upset about abortion and gays–things Jesus didn’t mention at all but they seem to fine with hypocrisy which Jesus spoke against constantly.
