They thrive on hate along with the insistence that they alone have a corner on "truth". They accept nothing except capitulation...there are no rules of engagement with these people except "surrender". This is why I no longer attempt to engage with them. But I am so glad that there is GLSEN's "Day of Silence"--I wish they'd had this when I was in school 40 years ago. This "Day of Truth" is a crock--they have 364 other days in the year to puch their hatred--I hope schools will not cave to their nonsense, and that students who do observe the "Day of Silence" will not engage any student who wants to start their anti-GLBT baddgering and bullying. Truth is not just for pro-bullying organizations, it also applies to those who want to tell the truth about pro-bullying organizations.
