I have belonged to PFLAG for YEARS. This is a scandal free, ALL INCLUSIVE family supportive organization that has no religious affiliation, nor favors religious activity AT ALL.

There are materials for the religious that address faith based INTEGRATION and coexistence for religious families and their gay members.
But there is no favoritism that says one religion is better or more desirable than another.
Just as it's taught the same regarding sexual orientation. That homosexuality isn't a BAD, UNDESIRABLE or dangerous thing, any more than heterosexuality is. And that punitive religious action or expectations that such actions will change the gay person is ill advised and can put a gay person more at risk.

That's all.
If PFOX is aware of PFLAG'S outreach and results, then they are lying and misrepresenting (no surprise there) it.

PFLAG encourages unconditional education and supports family cohesion without all the unnecessary and often disastrous expectations that a gay person should, can and must change orientation.

PFOX however, is LOADED with the most contradictory, incomprehensible and unworkable CONDITIONAL standards for GAY PEOPLE only.

Obviously, PFOX wants these conditions expanded to an extreme scope that invades the workplace, schools and other public accommodation and the private corporate sector.
Everywhere BUT the standards within places of worship (which can have the option to discriminate).

They don't want their influence to be limited by who comes to their places of worship and personal association. Forgetting all the while that other religious communities have to adhere to the same standards.

This isn't about the freedom to have a difference of opinion, but forcing bad, inaccurate and damaging information on the unwilling.
And when that force does manifest in lost careers, intimidation and violence, then there is mischaracterizing PFLAG. This is altogether insufferable and a whole other level of unethical behavior.

These stupid boycotts from the gay bashers never work anyway. The ultimate was when they threatened to boycott Disney World, probably one of the gayest and gay-friendliest places in the country. Mickey just gave them the finger and went merrily (gayly) on his way.

It's always insightful to see how closely aligned "ex-gay" groups are with radical, anti-gay pressure groups. Take the AFA, for example. They have been harassing Pepsi for some time now with a boycott, because Pepsi supports equality for all Americans. This boycott is not working very well, so other groups try to help it along. Instead of admitting that they are just a large, anti-gay advocacy group in disguise, "PFOX" is trying to gin up the boycott against Pepsi using reasoning which defies common sense. One cannot change gay people into heterosexuals (or "cure" them of homosexuality) while simultaneously running away from that premise and creating an entirely new sexual orientation category of "ex-gays."

Having Richard Cohen in ANY school is a bad idea, period. Just to watch that stupid beating the pillow with the tennis racket, you know there is something badly wrong with this man. No, no, keep this guy away from kids--of any age!
