Representative of Catholic Bishops Attacks Marriage Equality in Massachusetts at Values Voter Summit
Posted October 10th, 2011 by Wayne Besen
At the Value Voters Summit in Washington, DC there was a grotesque panel bashing LGBT people. A representative of the Catholic Bishops, Dan Avila, said that the Catholic Church had a secret program designed to overturn marriage equality in Massachusetts. Avila’s message was that marriage equality is not inevitable and that it should be fought tooth and nail.
Attention activists in Massachusetts. What is the surreptitious program to undermine equality that the Avila is talking about? Or is he just blowing smoke you know where?

Obviously not a word from the bishop on the VALUE of not raping, abusing and molesting children, not to mention the VALUE of turning pedophiles over for due process instead of protecting, hiding and defending them and moving them to another state where they can have a fresh new hunting ground of children. A warthog has more values than the f****n’ roman catholic church.

ps…and the VALUE of not spewing toxically shaming rhetoric and LIES that drive lgbt youth to suicide. Pro-life—-more two-faced b******t from the Unholy See.

Gary: Please don’t malign warthogs. They are, in general, of far more moral consistency than the bishoprics of the roman church.

What’s their “secret plan”? Are they going to recite secret formulae, or secretly steal all the marriage documents in the state and delete same sex registrations? When the bishops of MA were leading their campaign against the expansion of civil marriage to include same sex couples, their spokesman bishop was forced to step down amid charges of child sex abuse. They have no credibility anymore.

It’s elementary Mr. Patrick, their plan is to stir-up the base to demand their right to va ote! The first to be stirred, of course, will be the diehard bigots. That’s the easy part, they’ve been ready and waiting since 2004 for someone to lead them, to tell them what to do.
Here then comes the cavalry to do just that. Led by the glorious Knights of Christiandom, well, actually they’re not all that glorious, more like arrogant, small-minded, bigots who relish the imagined respect and admiration that they receive, especially when decked-out in the traditional (pssst, don’t say silly-looking) costume of Roman Catholic bishops, accessorized with all the gaudy chains, crosses, and nonsense, laden with the symbols of ancient secrets that they seem to think impresses the laity, and not just with how idiotic they look by taking themselves seriously. (to be continued)

One more reason (as if I needed one) to turn my back on the Catholic church! Don’t believe in the teachings, mind bending hate and then there’s the fact that they want you to pay them every time you go into a church! They are their own state, own objects of history that will never see the light of day, don’t share and don’t play well in the sandbox. It’s embarrassing to admit that I was brought up in the church in Massachusetts!
