Coulter is a Conservative Apparatchik Who Ignores Facts and Carelessly Attacks Potential Victims, Says TWO’s Wayne Besen
NEW YORK – Truth Wins Out condemned conservative activist Ann Coulter today for her cruel and mindless attack on the alleged sexual harassment victims of GOP presidential candidate Herman Cain. Coulter’s smear campaign was devoid of facts, despicable, and insensitive, says TWO.
“Ann Coulter’s ugly smear campaign against these women is disgraceful and she should be ashamed of herself,” said Truth Wins Out’s Executive Director Wayne Besen. “Coulter is an extremist and a reflexive apparatchik who embodies everything that is wrong with politics in America today.”
Commenting on the Cain incident on Fox News Channel’s Geraldo At Large, Coulter recklessly and irresponsibly slammed these women without knowing the details of their allegations.
Ann Coulter: It’s outrageous the way liberals treat a black conservative. This is another high-tech lynching. Even the allegations…
Rivera: In the words of Clarence Thomas, the Supreme Court justice?
Coulter: That’s right. There’s nothing liberals fear more than a black conservative. Ask Allen West, ask Michael Steele, and ask Clarence Thomas. And even what the allegations are here, I mean, it shows you how the civil rights juggernaut has gone off the rails. The idea of civil rights laws to begin with ironically was to protect blacks from Democrats in the south who wouldn’t protect them. Now it’s white women in Scarsdale who say, “Ooh, I don’t like that he called me honey.”
“Coulter is a hypocrite because she first became a celebrity by relentlessly attacking President Bill Clinton during the Monica Lewinsky affair,” said TWO’s Wayne Besen. “Where is her outrage and concern for sexual propriety and for the safety of women in the workplace now?”
The media has not been shy in covering the sexual scandals of white Democrats such as John Edwards, Elliott Spitzer, and Gary Hart. So there is no merit to Coulter’s inflammatory and fabricated portrayal of this situation as a liberal conspiracy to bring down a conservative African American politician.
Finally, Coulter owes Anita Hill an apology for suggesting that Clarence Thomas is innocent and the victim of a “high tech lynching.” Hill’s allegations against the Supreme Court Justice remain as credible today as they did during the confirmation hearings, says TWO.
Politico broke the story today that claimed Herman Cain had allegedly sexually harassed two women while he was the head of the National Restaurant Association from 1996-99. According to Politico, “Cain and his campaign repeatedly declined to respond directly about whether he ever faced allegations of sexual harassment at the restaurant association. They have also declined to address questions about specific reporting confirming that there were financial settlements in two cases in which women leveled complaints.” In one case, Politico says that it had seen documentation describing the allegations that showed that the restaurant association formally resolved the matter with both women receiving separation packages that were in the five-figure range.
“In fairness, Cain deserves a chance to coherently respond and present his viewpoint on the scandal,” said TWO’s Besen. “However, there is no evidence that the women identified in the Politico article were politically motivated or that they were not telling the truth. Yet, Ann Coulter used her national television platform to demean and humiliate these women who may have been victims of sexual harassment.”
Truth Wins Out is a non-profit organization that fights anti-LGBT religious extremism and the “ex-gay” myth. TWO specializes in turning information into action by organizing, advocating and fighting for LGBT equality.

Ann Coulter – she just never goes away. She is a horse-faced media w***e, has been since I first heard her name.

I always thought she looked like an anorexic who subsists on heroin and pickle juice. Her 15 minutes were up eons ago.

Ms. Coulter is nothing but a Republican stooge and hypocrite. She does not say anything that is worth listening to or reading about. Her arguments are childish and immature at best and destructive to political dialogue at worst. I just wish the media would ignore her and not seek her comments about anything.

The media should ignore her. It is ludicrous that they ask her questions on anything of substance. Coulter degrades political discourse in this country and is a disgrace.

No Anne, we don’t ‘fear’ a black conservative anymore than we ‘fear’ gay conservatives. We are just very suspect of the motives and/or emotional and mental health of any one who *actively* supports those parties or groups of people who degrade, lie about, oppress, and discriminate against the very same group that the supporting individual belongs to; especially when the motivation behind it is only greed and lust for power at the expense of their own dignity and equality.
We know from vast experience that lgbt conservatives who support and work with homophobic gay bashing groups (like the GOP) are usually sexually and emotionally f***ed up! Cain, of course, is innocent until proven guilty, but the fact that he is black and a high profile member of the GOP is a major strike against him as far as *integrity* goes.

um, guys, are you all nuts?? it aint exactly the same thing for someone to use the word ‘honey’ and someone to drop their pants and rape someone. or have sex with a 19 year-old. you guys ACTUALLY dont see that? wow. now i thought i’d heard a lot of crazy stuff, but you guys…..wow. good thing you are in echo chamber; and NO-DOB-DEE hears you, but yourselves. peace out folks. whack-a-doodles. was that sexual? did i harrass? only you all can tell……ha ha ha ha ha ha

Fred CPA — it’s disgusting how you minimize what allegedly happened to these women. It wasn’t about simply being called honey as you falsely write with your dishonest and sleazy spin.
Two women felt compelled to take action as a result of Herman Cain’s behavior on the job, according to reports. Instead of simply being dismissed as false — the women were offered settlements.
Fred, it appears that you are the one in the Ann Coulter echo chamber. You have come on this site and said not one word of truth. Pathetic and indicative of the poor character one can expect from Ann Coulter and her sheep-like followers.

Fred CPA, the fact that you feel the need to tell us what your job is in your name tells me two things:
1. You have self-esteem issues.
2. Most anyone can get an MBA — I mean, look at Wall Street — so you’re not impressing us, and you certainly don’t seem to be qualified to give an informed opinion on this.
Moreover, you can’t spell — kind of a conservative characteristic, I’ve come to see — and your side has lost the culture war. I am sorry for your sad lot in life.

Not really a surprise. I’ve never got the impression that conservatives really care about sexual harrassment–unless it’s gay male solidiers supposedly harrassing straight male soldiers. If it’s regular straight men harrassing women they seem to be okay with that.
Comment by Daniel — November 1, 2011 @ 12:32 pm
Wow, Fred, you just single handedly set back the public image of CPAs–no longer just boring, now boring, stupid and sexist.
Comment by Daniel — November 1, 2011 @ 12:34 pm
Daniel – That’s because conservatives probably believe that those women deserved to be harassed. I mean, how dare they actually work outside the home away from their children. If they had just stayed home and took care of all the babies God blessed them with, then this would never have happened. Poor Herman Cain. He was just tempted by liberal, bra-burners who did not keep to their God-given place in society.

What exactly does she mean by “white women in Scarsdale”? David Brock says that in her private conversations with him she showed a definite anti-Semitic streak.

Childish, cheap shot alert!
Since Halloween is now over, could you take down all the scary photos of Anne Coulter and Linda Harvey?
Comment by emma — November 1, 2011 @ 3:59 pm
Emma, all the photos of Ann Coulter and Linda Harvey are scary. If we took down the scary ones there would be no pictures of either of them on the internet. And as for childish, cheap shots–look at Coulter’s entire career.
Comment by Daniel — November 1, 2011 @ 4:24 pm
I see we’ve gone back in time: the weapons of choice are the words of white women who are set up to take out a black man who no longer resides on the plantation. Only difference is now because the anonymous claims don’t work by themselves get one to stoop to the level of claiming she was physically abused– you guys that believe this mess obviously were dropped on your heads when you were born or believe the rest of us were!
