I wrote about this when it happened a few weeks ago, but here is CBN reporting on Exodus’ Alan Chambers being named World magazine’s “Daniel of the Year.” At first I figured they called it that in allusion to the Biblical character of Daniel and the whole lion’s den story, but maybe “Daniel” is just some guy who likes dudes but is married to a lady, which would make Alan Chambers a perfect recipient.

In that report, I love where they mention the Exodus iPhone app being pulled during 2011. In case you forgot, we did that.

Dear Pat:

We know you are teetering on the brink of total irrelevancy and that your mind doesn’t seem to be what it once was [a lateral move, I know], but when you complain that Obama is defending gay people in foreign countries but not defending religious minorities, i.e. persecuted Christians in other countries, you are simply confused. It was already our policy to promote the sorts of human rights you support abroad. We simply are now explicitly including people that make your little soul un-comfy, as well.

Yet again, it bears repeating. Liberals are the actual “pro-life” people in this country, as we support the rights of all people to survive and thrive. Wingnuts like Pat are really only concerned about non-gay, mostly white Christians and, purportedlly, fetus-Americans.

rush limbaughWayne, I’ll take your Pat Robertson wondering if macaroni and cheese is a “black thing” and raise you Captain Oxycontin calling the First Lady of the United States of America “uppity.” If you don’t want to listen to his gaping maw for eleven minutes, skip ahead and start at 7:00 or so. It’s a pretty epic whine, though.

Oh, but his moron white supremacist fans will continue to swear up and down that he’s not a racist!

And they wonder why their outreach to African Americans perennially fails….

UPDATE FROM EVAN: You must, must, MUST read Ken Layne’s report on this!

As Brian at Right Wing Watch says, “when even Pat Robertson thinks the Republican Party has shifted too far to the right, you know there is a problem.” Mind you, Pat’s not saying he necessarily disagrees with the far right platforms of the GOP candidates, but he’s looking at it from a strategic perspective and at least is aware that the majority of the American public just isn’t in line with far right Republican values. Here is Pat saying, in essence, that if the 2012 Republican candidates don’t stop being such freakish wingnuts, that they will all lose to Barack Obama, a million times.

Heh. Head over to RWW for the transcript.

As Pat so wisely says in this video, “Halloween is the night when witches and goblins.” Seriously, he develops that thought no further. Also, it is Satan’s night, etc.

All righty, then, Pat.  He’s like, “she’s basically dead anyway, right?”

I’m quite sure Newt Gingrich would agree, and ask a follow-up like, “What if she just has a cold or stubs her toe? I can divorce her then, too, right?”

Seems like Joe and I had the exact same reaction to Pat Robertson’s statement on the DC earthquake:

Ladies and gentlemen I don’t want to get weird on this so please take it for what it’s worth. But it seems to me the Washington Monument is a symbol of America’s power, it has been the symbol of our great nation, we look at that monument and say this is one nation under God. Now there’s a crack in it, there’s a crack in it and it’s closed up. Is that a sign from the Lord? Is that something that has significance or is it just result of an earthquake? You judge, but I just want to bring that to your attention. It seems to me symbolic. When Jesus was crucified and when he died the curtain in the Temple was rent from top to bottom and there was a tear and it was extremely symbolic, is this symbolic? You judge.

My god, these people vote.

And what’s in Virginia?  Hmmmm, Liberty U and Pat Robertson’s empire.

And what’s in Colorado?  Hmmmm, Focus on the Family.

BLAME IT ON GAYS NOW, PAT.

Heehee.  Also, read Wonkette.
