Truth Wins Out is pleased that our efforts uncovered the incontrovertible evidence that Bachmann & Associates practices “ex-gay” therapy. It is now time for Michele Bachmann to stop waffling and weaving and finally admit that she and her husband own a clinic that tries to “cure” LGBT people.
What are they so ashamed of and why are they running from their reprehensible record? We thought the Bachmann’s were proud of their extremism, but apparently they are masking their genuine beliefs in an effort to appeal to mainstream voters.

This is just SO excellant! Yesterday, when Michael Brown was making fun of T.W.O. on his radio show he claimed that he had asked you (Wayne) to be on his show but you indicated you had a schedule problem with that. Was he telling the truth? Also, on Wednesday’s Everything Queer Day on his broadcast he has invited MassResistence to be on, to lament all things gay. I thought you might like to listen in.
“It’s not something Americans care about”—I guess that means that we, our family, friends and loved ones who care about lgbt people and issues aren’t Americans. Maybe she can ‘create jobs’ in the field of exorcism.
An antidote for overly simplistic, dichotomous thinking is what is needed here. Honest conversation about sexuality is beyond the capacity of spiritually rigid folk. My personal opinion is that Michele Bachmann is a twit. I view her husband as an opportunistic and vaguely destructive bigot. Fortunately, the worldview espoused by the Bachmann’s, while still alive and well in many parts of the country, is aging out of the American population. The hatred will always persist of course, but, like racism, it will eventually be forced underground as the progressive-minded lead and the prejudiced and their petulance are dragged into the modern era. In spite of the Backmann’s and all the backwardness that they represent, we have much to be optimistic about.
Of course we care! They already lied. They are taking government funds for a family business that attempts to pray away the gay. Its a waste of money and time. When are we going to move towards compassion and understanding and acceptance?
I really enjoyed the undercover reporting you guys did, and am excited to see your story break into the major news media, and expose the Bachman’s for what they really are. Thankfully, I realized I was lying to myself, and “came out”. Without a doubt, there can be no honest conversation when you can’t even be honest with yourself about your own sexuality, let alone the sexuality of others. That’s how Dr. Bachman can cheerfully run his clinic, despite its potential for harm, lying to himself that he is actually “helping” gay men as he was “helped”. If it wasn’t so infuriating, it would be tragic.
My gaydar is pretty accurate and I suspect a gay blade in psychologist’s clothing. Pray away the gay, indeed. Loony tunes.

Thank you for writing the gay blade comment. From the first time I saw Marcus B. I suspected he is an unaccepting gay. The reason for my thinking this is that he reminds me of ME in my earlier days. I was just as rabidly anti-gay. Sure, it’s possible he’s a fairly feminine acting straight person,(metrosexual?) but I don’t buy it because of his exstreme stand. I’d be willing to bet there’s a very unhappy man behind that fascade.
Wait, why aren’t people on the left upset about the lying and deceitfulness that occurred in order to produce this video? Why hasn’t there been a full release of the videos unedited? Certainly, this type of journalism is the same thing as James O’Keefe. I’m not saying I think the videos are doctored, I just want a full release to be sure of it.

Well, Curt my gaydar is going off big time every time I hear or see Marcus Bachmann. A very unhappy closeted gay man as a matter of fact. I suspect that he can’t or won’t make the necessary change in his life to make himself happy so he wnats any other gay people he can get to attend his “exd-gay” “ministry” to be unhappy as well. So sad, but often misery loves company.

While I had not been familiar with Cliff Kincaid, I noticed that his article quotes Peter LaBarbera as a supporting source for his views. That pretty much tells me everything I need to know.

Great sting operation – props to you, John, and the TWO team! I have been seeing a lot of this “closet case” speculation about Marcus Bachmann. As Jon Stewart observed, he does bear an uncanny resemblance to Cameron on “Modern Family”! But I keep remembering Sarah Schulman’s comment in her excellent book “Ties That Bind: Familial Homophobia and Its Consequences”, to the effect that we want to believe all homophobes are secretly gay because it makes the haters seem less dangerous, more comical, more like ourselves. She called it a subtle form of internalized homophobia – gays are in effect blaming other (closeted) gays for their oppression, not taking an honest look at the pervasiveness of prejudice among straight people. And, perhaps, reinforcing disdain for effeminacy even among gay men themselves? Just putting that out there for discussion…
